Dehradun – The Uttarakhand government has inaugurated a fresh skill‑development drive aimed at aligning young talent with the fast‑evolving demands of industry. Spearheaded by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Department of Skill Development & Employment signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the M3M Foundation to create a bridge between training and sustainable employment.

At a ceremony in Dehradun, Sanjay Kumar, Director (Training) of the department, and Dr. Aishwarya Mahajan, Managing Trustee and President of M3M Foundation, formalised the partnership.

First Phase: Four New Training Centres

The initial rollout will see state‑of‑the‑art centres established in Dehradun, Haldwani, Kashipur and Pithoragarh. Depending on local demand and beneficiary readiness, Almora and Barkot could be added later.

Each hub will host at least two industry‑relevant programmes, selected after a ground‑level assessment of regional employer needs. Beyond technical instruction, the scheme emphasises direct industry linkages, placement assistance and pathways to self‑employment.

Modern Technical Trades on Offer

Students will be trained in high‑growth sectors such as:

  • Electric Vehicles (EV) technology
  • Auto electrical maintenance
  • Automobile repair and servicing
  • Internet of Things (IoT) applications
  • Plumbing and sanitary engineering

Course selection will mirror the employment landscape of each locality, ensuring that graduates possess skills that local businesses actively seek.

Placement‑Centric Approach

Dr. Payal Kanodia, Chairperson and Trustee of the M3M Foundation, highlighted that the collaboration goes beyond classroom instruction. “Our goal is to mould a workforce that meets industry standards and then seamlessly connect them with job opportunities,” she said.

The partnership will institute rigorous monitoring of trainee outcomes, guaranteeing that the training translates into tangible livelihood prospects.

Key officials—including Deputy Director (Employment) Chandrakanta, Deputy Director (Training) Niranjan Khugshal, Principal Dinkar Rautela, UKSDM Nodal Officer Vinita Badoni, and M3M representative Arvind Kumar Sharma—participated in the signing event.
