Dehradun. The next milestone of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ initiative—a drive aimed at amplifying young voices in Uttarakhand’s development—will unfold on 18 September. On that day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will sit down with 140 hand‑picked students from across the state to hear their visions for the theme, ‘What Should the Uttarakhand of My Dreams Look Like?’
The event goes beyond a simple dialogue with the chief minister. Following his direction, senior IAS officers and heads of key departments have been tasked with meeting the selected students beforehand, ensuring that their ideas are fully understood before they reach the CM’s desk.
More Than 2.67 Lakh Young Minds Contributed
Roughly three lakh students from classes 11 and 12 took part in the online contest. A total of 267,744 submissions poured in, covering topics such as education, employment, tourism, environment, migration, technology, healthcare, and self‑employment.
An expert panel sifted through the entries and identified 140 candidates whose proposals stood out for originality and relevance. These students now have a rare chance to present their aspirations directly to the state’s top leader.
Interactive Sessions with Senior Bureaucrats Planned
To bridge youthful ideas with policy action, officials from the Departments of Education, Health, Forest & Environment, Public Works, Tourism, Information Technology, Self‑Employment, and Women & Child Development will engage with the students. The discussions will probe the participants’ perspectives on development pathways, job creation, and the broader future of Uttarakhand.
Scholarships Up to ₹2 Lakh for the 140 Selected Scholars
As part of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ programme, each of the 140 students will be awarded a scholarship of up to ₹2 lakh. The funds are earmarked for post‑12th career preparation, mentorship, and skill‑building activities, a commitment announced by CM Dhami during the campaign launch.
Embedding Youth Insights into Government Schemes
CM Dhami affirmed that the administration will strive to weave the constructive suggestions received from students into existing schemes and future policies. He emphasized that the ingenuity of young Uttarakhandis can serve as a catalyst for the state’s sustainable growth.
The 18 September gathering will therefore mark a pivotal step: it not only offers a platform for the 140 scholars to voice their dreams but also initiates a collaborative dialogue with senior officials on translating those dreams into concrete development actions.
