Samsung expands its sound lineup with the debut of the Galaxy Buds On, the company’s first wireless earphones that attach to the outer ear instead of nesting inside the canal. The open‑ear architecture lets listeners enjoy music or calls while staying attuned to ambient sounds.
Clip‑on, open‑ear construction for comfort and situational awareness
The Buds On employ a wide, adjustable clip that rests on the pinna, coupled with a supple band that adapts to various ear shapes. By positioning the drivers just outside the ear canal, the earbuds deliver sound without completely isolating the wearer, preserving awareness of the surrounding environment.
Sound quality and leakage mitigation
Audio is driven by Samsung’s TwinBoost speakers and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform paired with a Class‑D amp. An intelligent volume‑balancing algorithm adapts output levels, while the proprietary Audio Leakage Reduction system curtails sound that escapes the earphones, reducing disturbance to nearby people.
Battery endurance and playback duration
Samsung claims the Buds On can sustain up to 9.5 hours of uninterrupted music on a single charge, enough to power a full day of commuting or remote‑work sessions.
Calling features, AI integration and gesture control
Three built‑in microphones, a bone‑conduction voice sensor, and AI‑enhanced noise suppression work together to provide clear voice transmission even in bustling environments. The earbuds sync with Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite, enabling voice commands such as launching Gemini Live or creating a Quick Voice Memo. Head‑gesture shortcuts let users answer calls, mute alarms or glance at notifications without touching a device.
Effortless pairing with Galaxy gear
Opening the charging case instantly pairs the Buds On with compatible Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Users can adjust volume, EQ settings and other preferences directly from the Quick Panel or Settings menu on their phone.
Pricing, launch date and pending details
The earbuds are priced at KRW 299,000 (approximately ₹21,000) and will launch in South Korea on 27 October in a sleek black finish. A global rollout is expected later, though Samsung has yet to reveal specifics such as driver dimensions, Bluetooth version, supported codecs or charging speed. Additional technical data will likely emerge as the release date approaches.
