Muzaffarpur. In a rapid operation close to Kalyambagh Chowk, constables from the Kazimohammadpur police station arrested two men found in possession of roughly 80 grams of cannabis. The detainees were escorted to the station, where Station House Officer Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh recorded an FIR and set the legal process in motion.
Expanded Raids and Ongoing Investigation
Following the arrests, officers launched nocturnal searches at several sites that had been flagged during the suspects' interrogation. Investigators are now sifting through the intelligence supplied by the arrestees to chart a wider smuggling network.
In recent weeks, more than two dozen individuals have been taken into custody across the region, with seizures that have included:
- Cannabis (ganja)
- Smack
- Heroin
- Brown sugar
Crackdown Spreads to Vaishali
The anti‑narcotics drive has now spilled over into the adjacent Vaishali district. Three days earlier, police in Ahiyapur raided a location near the Bairiya Bus Stand, confiscating 28.06 kg of cannabis and arresting Mithun Kumar of Bhagwanpur.
During subsequent questioning, officers uncovered the existence of additional operatives based in Vaishali. Earlier in the week, a joint task force seized 185 grams of heroin and smack from three alleged couriers near Chandni Chowk. The accused—Vikram Kumar, Sakaldeep Rai (both from Jadua under Nagar police jurisdiction) and Sonu Kumar Rai of Bidupur—have been detained, and the probe continues to unravel further links in the trafficking chain.
