Congress Announces Its Slate for the Maharashtra Legislative Council
The party has put forward three aspirants for the biennial council elections slated for October. Two seasoned members will defend their seats, and a fresh face has been added for the Amravati Teachers’ constituency.
Returning Incumbents and a First‑Timer

Joining them is Aditi Pohare, who will contest the Amravati Division Teachers’ seat for the first time, marking her debut in council politics.
Five Seats Up for Grabs
The contest covers three Graduates’ seats—Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Pune and Nagpur—and two Teachers’ seats—Amravati and Pune. All sitting members’ tenures end on 6 December 2026.
