Madhubani, Bihar – A police driver lost his life following a severe road accident on National Highway 27 in the Madhubani district. While navigating a stretch close to Khopa within the Phulparas police‑station area, his Bolero struck a pothole, veered off its lane and slammed into a passing truck before both vehicles toppled over.

Details of the incident

The driver, Tej Narayan Sah, who was assigned to the Madhubani Police Centre, experienced an abrupt tyre‑pothole impact that caused immediate loss of steering. The out‑of‑control Bolero struck a truck travelling in the opposite direction, leading to a dual rollover that left the police vehicle heavily crushed and the driver gravely wounded.

Emergency response and medical care

Police patrol units reached the scene within minutes. Sah was first taken to the Sub‑Divisional Hospital for emergency stabilization. Given the seriousness of his injuries, medical staff transferred him to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for advanced treatment. Despite intensive care, he passed away at DMCH.
