Tragic Night Accident Claims Indore Businessman's Life
In the early hours of Sunday, a 44‑year‑old entrepreneur from Indore lost his life after his car struck a provisional divider that had been set up for metro‑line construction. The victim, Kamal Vagela, was driving home along Mahavir Krishna Avenue when the collision occurred.
Police reports indicate that Kamal was travelling with several companions. After his friends alighted at various points, he continued alone toward his residence. Moments later his vehicle hit the construction barrier positioned near his house. Bystanders who witnessed the crash called emergency services, and Kamal was rushed to Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital, where he was later declared dead despite intensive medical attention.
Kamal, son of Durgashankar Vagela, owned a hair‑cosmetics business and is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
Relatives Question Safety Precautions at Metro Worksite
Following the incident, Kamal’s family has raised serious doubts about the absence of clear warning signs around the metro construction zone. They claim the temporary divider was installed without adequate markings or alerts for motorists, creating a blind spot that likely contributed to the fatal crash.
The relatives are demanding a detailed explanation of the safety protocols employed at the site and are urging authorities to re‑evaluate traffic management measures in the vicinity.
Police Initiate Probe and Review Surveillance Footage
Law enforcement agencies have launched an inquiry to reconstruct the sequence of events that led to the accident. Officials are examining CCTV recordings from nearby cameras to determine how the vehicle approached the divider and whether any additional factors were involved.
Investigators are also assessing the condition of the road surface and the overall layout of the construction area. A comprehensive report will be released after all evidence—including video footage and on‑site inspections—has been thoroughly evaluated.
