Incident Overview

Haridwar – In the early hours of the day, a structural failure ripped through a wing of Amrit Law College in the Dhanouri‑Pirankaliyar locality. The collapse occurred close to the campus restroom block, sending a large concrete slab and masonry crashing down. The incident struck while a Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) platoon was stationed on the premises, causing immediate alarm among students and staff.

Rescue Operation

Eyewitnesses quickly reported that a PAC constable was buried beneath the falling debris. Officers from the Kaliyar police station, together with personnel from the Dhanouri outpost, arrived within minutes. Rescue teams set up a coordinated effort, carefully removing broken bricks and concrete while scanning for the trapped officer.

After a tense, methodical search, the rescuers succeeded in extricating the injured jawan and escorted him to a cleared safety zone away from the unstable structure.

Aftermath and Medical Care

The rescued constable, along with several faculty members who suffered minor cuts and bruises, were rushed to the nearest hospital for medical attention. Police officials conducted an initial on‑site assessment, documenting the extent of the damage and recording statements from those who witnessed the collapse.

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities have launched a formal inquiry to determine the root cause of the building failure. Structural engineers have been summoned to conduct a detailed examination, while investigators continue to gather evidence and interview survivors and witnesses.
