Gold Futures Slip on the MCX
On Monday, 5 October, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded the October‑delivery gold contract sliding to around ₹1,49,347 per 10 g. The price fell by roughly ₹1,043 during the session, moving opposite to a modest rise in global gold prices and highlighting the split trajectory between Indian futures and the international market.
Silver Rockets Close to ₹700
Silver headed in the opposite direction, gaining about ₹697 to close near ₹2,26,393 per kilogram on the MCX. The rally outpaced gold locally and mirrored a stronger percentage gain on overseas exchanges.

24‑carat (24K) gold
The purest grade traded in India is quoted at approximately ₹1,49,540 per 10 g. Its near‑pure composition commands the highest price among the standard categories.
22‑carat (22K) gold
Commonly used for jewellery, 22K gold was listed at about ₹1,37,078 per 10 g. Its slightly lower gold content makes it a favourite for intricate designs.
18‑carat (18K) gold
The 18K tier traded near ₹1,12,155 per 10 g, offering a more budget‑friendly alternative for everyday ornaments.
Silver Price Snapshot
In the local market, silver was trading at roughly ₹2,26,770 per kilogram. The metal’s momentum continued to outstrip gold during Monday’s trade.
International Benchmarks Remain Bullish
Globally, both metals posted gains. On the COMEX, gold edged up about 0.06 % to $4,164.80 per ounce, while silver surged approximately 1.46 %, reaching $61.30 per ounce.
