Firozpur. Anticipating a massive spike in passenger flow during the festive period, Northern Railway has launched a dedicated special train linking Firozpur Cantt with Purnia, creating an extra corridor for travelers bound for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Timetable and Frequency
The service, numbered 04634/04633 Firozpur Cantt‑Purnia‑Firozpur Cantt Special, will operate eight trips in each direction. Departures from Firozpur are slated for every Thursday from 8 October to 26 November, while the return journeys from Purnia will leave each Saturday between 10 October and 28 November.
Departure and Arrival Details
According to railway officials, train 04634 will pull out of Firozpur Cantt at 5:30 pm and reach Purnia around 3 am the following day, after an approximate run of 33 hours 30 minutes.
The return leg, train 04633, is scheduled to depart Purnia at 6 am and arrive at Firozpur Cantt close to 4:35 pm the next day, covering the distance in roughly 34 hours 35 minutes.

The special train will traverse a corridor that threads through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, halting at major stations such as Makhu, Lohian Khas, Nakodar, Phillaur, Dhandari Kalan, Chandigarh, Ambala Cantt, Yamunanagar‑Jagadhri, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Chhapra, Sonpur, Hajipur, Shahpur Patori, Barauni, Begusarai, Khagaria, Mansi, Naugachia and Katihar.
These stops ensure that passengers traveling between the north‑west and the eastern heartland enjoy seamless connectivity during the peak holiday rush.
Coach Composition
The train will comprise 16 coaches: five air‑conditioned 3‑tier coaches, six sleeper‑class coaches and five general‑unreserved coaches.
Railway authorities have emphasized that the extra service is designed to alleviate congestion on regular trains and to give holiday‑bound travelers an additional, comfortable option.
With Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath on the horizon, demand on routes linking Punjab with eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is expected to stay high. This special train aims to cater to that surge, helping passengers reach their destinations with less hassle.
