Suspect Apprehended in Alleged Senior‑Women Assaults
Faridabad police have taken a 40‑year‑old man into custody after linking him to two separate cases where elderly women travelling alone were reportedly lured with the promise of a safe ride home.
How the Alleged Attacks Unfolded
Both complaints originated from the Bhupani police‑station jurisdiction on 18 September and 19 September. In each instance, the victims recounted that a motorcyclist approached them, offered a complimentary lift, and then diverted to an isolated stretch of road.
One woman narrated that the man made the proposition even while her husband stood nearby, insisting he would drop her at her doorstep before steering toward a deserted area where the assault allegedly took place.
Investigative Steps Taken
Initial attempts to trace the perpetrator through nearby CCTV footage proved inconclusive. Detectives therefore activated their local intelligence network, canvassed the neighbourhood, and consulted informants to piece together a pattern of activity.
After roughly ten to fifteen days of intensive field work, an informant tipped off the police with a precise location, enabling officers to locate and arrest the suspect for questioning.
Interrogation Findings and Ongoing Inquiry
During the interrogation, the accused is reported to have acknowledged involvement in the two incidents. Investigators are now scrutinising his background to ascertain whether he may be linked to additional similar crimes in the region.
The case underscores the importance of reporting unsolicited transport offers, especially to vulnerable individuals, and highlights the pivotal role of community intelligence in solving such offenses.
Next Legal Steps
Legal proceedings have been initiated, and authorities will continue to gather forensic and testimonial evidence to substantiate the allegations and explore any further connections to the suspect.
